Why Health Coaching?
I became interested in health coaching after hearing of the company PreKure. I knew about some of the founders and am well read in their books on low carb healthy fat lifestyle, sports performance and fasting. I had reaped the benefits of adopting this lifestyle and had also got many of my friends and family into it too. I respect their evidential approach and how progressive they are within the industry. PreKure collaborates with and teaches health professionals to really el

Nut and Seed Crackers
These little gems are so perfect for afternoon tea. They taste perfect on their own or loaded with cheese and pickle. The key ingredient is the salt. Ya gotta have good quality salt! If you like you can add any dried herbs or spices. I like mine plain though. The only bad thing is they don’t keep for very long. Four days in a sealed container would be about it. They don’t go off after that, just a little soft. Good luck making them last longer than the day they’re made though

Collagen Smoothie
I am into collagen in a big way. It's great for gut health, skin health, bone health and joints PLUS it makes your hair and nails grow. I’ve tried a few different brands, especially the well advertised ones and I reckon there isn’t a lot of difference in them efficacy wise. At the moment I’m using Two Islands Marine Collagen which I think is a good product and is well priced. The powder is unflavoured so perfect for smoothies or even in your morning coffee. You can't taste it

Berry Scones
A little morning treat! I bake these on days I’m dying for a baked good but don’t want to blow out with actual bakery food. They are soft and flavoursome, especially with some butter! You can swap the blackcurrants out for any berries you like, often I’ll use blueberries. I chose blackcurrants this time as our local organic shop had them and they looked so cute and little. It makes no difference if the berries are defrosted or frozen. Fresh might not release enough juice so I

Winter-Proofing For The Whole Family
As we farewell summer and turn back our clocks it’s the perfect time to think about winter-proofing for you and your family. Autumn is a great season to prepare your body for the colds, viral infections, bacterial infections and increases in asthma symptoms winter brings. NIS is a practical step you can take to address any underlying pathology and ensure your immune system is in optimal working order ready for winter. Everyone in the family will benefit. Treatment is not limi

Strong Bodies
Who doesn't love having a strong body?! To keep your body strong during the cooler months ensure you’re getting the right vitamins, minerals and good bacteria. I've singled out my top three for this week. VITAMIN D The sun isn’t potent enough to provide this during winter months, so supplementation is essential. This lovely vitamin upregulates cathelicidin which is an antimicrobial protein, it kills bacteria, fungi and viral nasties. Decreased vitamin D stores also increase y

Ain't Life Beachy? A Nourishing Breakfast Bowl
This recipe is so easy and ultra nourishing. It’s perfect to put together before work or pack into a basket for a relaxed beach brekkie. I love the contrast of the fresh white coconut yoghurt against the bright berries. It is free of dairy, gluten, eggs, and nuts. Coconut Bowl Ingredients 200g coconut yoghurt 1/2c organic blueberries 1/2c diced organic strawberries 1/2c coconut chips 1tbsp organic goji berries 1tbsp organic sunflower seeds 1tbsp organic pumpkin seeds Divide

Wellness From The Ground Up
As most of us are back from our summer breaks, there's no better time than now to plant our vegetables as we're home to tend to them. Getting them in the ground now will ensure you have nutritious produce for the coming months. The Tui Garden Guide suggests the following (your geographical location will dictate what will grow but there's a guide on their website). They also have a wealth of information on soil preparation and lots of gardening tips. Herbs Basil Coriander Pars

Beetroot Burger Heaven
These are one of my all time favourites. They are juicy and packed full of flavour and nutrients. I usually only have a beet patty but have added a lamb mince patty recipe also for the meat lovers. We serve ours with extra char grilled vegetables too. They aren’t the most graceful things to eat but they are worth every bite of messiness I assure you. Beetroot patties 2 medium sized beetroot peeled and grated 1 400g can of black beans drained (I use ceres organics) 1/2c carama

Be Your Own Hero
“True self care is not salt baths and chocolate cake, it is making the choice to build a life you don’t regularly need to escape from”. Be the HERO of your life not the victim. Heading into the New Year there’s no better time than now to put yourself first, make some good choices and start living. I can help you achieve this. This is a topic I'm pretty passionate about so no doubt you'll be hearing more once my busy period slows and I can give this the time it deserves. Until
