Why Health Coaching?
I became interested in health coaching after hearing of the company PreKure. I knew about some of the founders and am well read in their books on low carb healthy fat lifestyle, sports performance and fasting. I had reaped the benefits of adopting this lifestyle and had also got many of my friends and family into it too. I respect their evidential approach and how progressive they are within the industry. PreKure collaborates with and teaches health professionals to really el

High Flying No More
Right, I have been meaning to write this for a while but have been busy doing life. Here goes. For years I have been terrified of flying. I’m not talking about being a little scared. I mean full on petrified. I was certain I would plunge to my death each time I boarded a big steel coffin. This irrational fear came out of nowhere. I had always flown, since being a little kid. Nothing bad had ever happened however from the age of 16 until recently I had been terrified. I once t

Nut and Seed Crackers
These little gems are so perfect for afternoon tea. They taste perfect on their own or loaded with cheese and pickle. The key ingredient is the salt. Ya gotta have good quality salt! If you like you can add any dried herbs or spices. I like mine plain though. The only bad thing is they don’t keep for very long. Four days in a sealed container would be about it. They don’t go off after that, just a little soft. Good luck making them last longer than the day they’re made though

Collagen Smoothie
I am into collagen in a big way. It's great for gut health, skin health, bone health and joints PLUS it makes your hair and nails grow. I’ve tried a few different brands, especially the well advertised ones and I reckon there isn’t a lot of difference in them efficacy wise. At the moment I’m using Two Islands Marine Collagen which I think is a good product and is well priced. The powder is unflavoured so perfect for smoothies or even in your morning coffee. You can't taste it

Berry Scones
A little morning treat! I bake these on days I’m dying for a baked good but don’t want to blow out with actual bakery food. They are soft and flavoursome, especially with some butter! You can swap the blackcurrants out for any berries you like, often I’ll use blueberries. I chose blackcurrants this time as our local organic shop had them and they looked so cute and little. It makes no difference if the berries are defrosted or frozen. Fresh might not release enough juice so I

Sticky Lemon Slice
This is to die for! I’ve adapted the recipe from one I sourced online. Made it a little less sickly sweet and more tangy. Whilst the ingredients are mostly nutritious it doesn’t mean it’s a free for all. This is still a treat to enjoy once in a while. Because I can’t trust myself with sweet foods (would’ve thought I could by now, eye roll), whenever I make sweet things I try a slice then either give it away or portion it and put it in the freezer. Otherwise I go to town on it

Why Is An Occupied Uterus The Measure Of Success?
I had a moment this morning at work. The birth unit was empty so I was resting on the couch at around 4am (good luck to anyone who tries to stay awake with no work to do). My eyes were closed, I was dozing then I heard a car pull up, I looked out the window and saw a woman in hard labour leaning over the car. Usually we get a bit of notice but not this time. Up I rushed, let her in, rapidly flicked on the bells and whistles we might need, tried to call the on call midwife as

What I Eat in A Week
Hi Guys Thought I’d write this blog to share what a normal couple of weeks looks like for me and to help you with ideas. For those of you omitting certain foods you can swap things out. For example, swap greek yoghurt for coconut yoghurt. I’ve been pretty strict with my diet for a couple of weeks, have been exercising regularly and also taking liver support supplements (along with my usuals) and I feel so flipping good!! I have been keeping an eye on calories because it’s int

Broccoli Sushi
Well, well, well, what do we have here? Healthy sushi which tastes good that's what! My partner was keen to make sushi so I needed to think of a way I could join in since I'm not keen on eating rice. Granted this has been made before but I've never had a go and I didn't follow a recipe. I made it up. Here is what I did..... Broccoli Rice Whole head of broccoli The juice of half a lemon Half an avocado to bind the broccoli Salt and pepper Whiz all of that in a food processor u

Winter-Proofing For The Whole Family
As we farewell summer and turn back our clocks it’s the perfect time to think about winter-proofing for you and your family. Autumn is a great season to prepare your body for the colds, viral infections, bacterial infections and increases in asthma symptoms winter brings. NIS is a practical step you can take to address any underlying pathology and ensure your immune system is in optimal working order ready for winter. Everyone in the family will benefit. Treatment is not limi
